Shires |
| S.E. Shires trombones are
custom made trombones of unparalleled
professional quality. Shires trombones are available with a variety of
custom options: detachable bells, interchangeable leadpipes, varied
tuning
slide tapers, and special slide designs. |
Bells:
Model 1 - clear, centered sound
Model 2 - broad, full sound |
Materials:
Yellow brass - clearest sound
Gold brass - warm sound
Red brass - warmer sound |
Bells are available in
standard, light, and heavy weights.
Slides are available in .547" bore with a small or large crook,
and
in .547/.562" bore with a large crook. F-attachment horns are available
either with a Shires Rotary Valve or a Thayer Axial Flow valve. Three
removable mouthpipes are included with each trombone. We usually have
Shires
components in stock, but as they are hand made and very popular it is
not possible to have everything in stock. Our most popular combination
so far has been a
1G bell, Thayer valve, and a .547" slide with large crook. Shires' new
small bore jazz horn has shown to be very popular with players uses to
large bore tenors who need a jazz horn that isn't stuffy but has the
right sound for jazz. Please call or email us for prices and
availability.
